These Parent and Student Terms ("Parent Terms") are additional terms that apply specifically to parents, guardians, and students ("Parents" or "Students") who use TutorHub SG to discover, communicate with, and book tutors. By accessing the Platform or engaging a tutor through it, you agree to comply with these Parent Terms in addition to our general Terms of Service.
1. Responsibility for Tutor Selection, Evaluation & Work Performed
Parents and Students are solely responsible for evaluating and selecting tutors. The tutorship contract and work arrangement are strictly and exclusively between you and the tutor. TutorHub SG, the website, and its parent, subsidiary, or affiliate companies are not in any way responsible or liable for the work or job performed by the tutor, who you choose to hire, or the conduct, quality, timing, or safety of the lessons. TutorHub SG provides profiles, qualifications verification badges, and reviews for information purposes only:
- We do not endorse, recommend, or sponsor any tutor listed on the Platform.
- While we verify certain academic documents, we do not inspect teaching styles, actual competence, character, background history, or performance quality.
- You agree to conduct your own due diligence, interviews, references, and certificate checks prior to hiring a tutor or initiating lessons.
2. Fee Payments, Transaction Fees, Refunds & Direct Engagement Disclaimer
Unless expressly stated otherwise (such as if we introduce secure platform billing or escrow features):
- Payments for tuition services are negotiated and settled directly between you and the tutor.
- TutorHub SG and its affiliate companies do not handle, collect, or hold tuition funds in trust, and are not responsible for issuing payment receipts, managing refund requests, or enforcing payments.
- TutorHub SG and its affiliates bear no responsibility or liability for payment defaults, disputes, missed sessions, cancellation fees, or failure of the tutor to perform the agreed hours.
- Where TutorHub SG introduces integrated payment processing or related financial services, a transaction fee or service fee may apply. Any such fee will be disclosed to you at or before the point of payment. Please refer to our general Terms of Service — Section 14 (Transaction Fees & Payment Processing) for full details.
3. Academic Outcomes & Grade Disclaimers
TutorHub SG makes no warranty, representation, or guarantee regarding the academic performance, results, or outcomes of any student:
- We do not guarantee exam grades (including PSLE, O-Levels, A-Levels, IB, or university exams), academic improvement, school admissions, scholarship success, or educational advancement.
- Tuition is a collaborative effort, and academic outcomes depend entirely on individual student participation, tutor capability, and external factors beyond the Platform's control.
4. Safety, Supervision & Child Protection Disclaimer
TutorHub SG and its affiliate companies do not supervise lessons, monitor the interaction between tutors and students, or control lesson safety:
- Parents remain strictly and solely responsible for supervising minor students during tuition lessons, whether conducted online (via Zoom or other video tools) or in-person (at your home).
- We strongly recommend that a parent or responsible adult guardian is present at home during in-person sessions, or actively monitors online sessions.
- TutorHub SG and its affiliates do not perform ongoing, continuous character or criminal screening of tutors. You assume all safety risks associated with engaging independent contractors. We are in no way responsible for the safety, health, behaviour, or physical well-being of the student or tutor.
5. Reviews & Ratings Guidelines
We encourage Parents and Students to leave honest, helpful reviews of their tuition experience. By posting a review, you agree that:
- Your reviews must be accurate, truthful, and based on actual lesson experiences with the tutor.
- You will not post reviews containing abusive, profane, defamatory, or malicious content.
- You will not post fake positive reviews for friends, or fake negative reviews to harm a competitor tutor.
- TutorHub SG reserves the right to remove or edit reviews at its absolute discretion.
