Terms of Service

Welcome to TutorHub SG ("Platform", "TutorHub SG", "we", "us", or "our"). TutorHub SG is an online marketplace connecting tutors, teachers, educators, students, and parents in Singapore. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.

1. Nature of Our Service

TutorHub SG acts solely as an advertising platform, a matching marketplace, and a communication facilitator. TutorHub SG is not an employer, an employment agency, a tuition provider, or an educational institution. All tuition arrangements and contracts (whether verbal or written) are entered into directly between tutors and parents or students. TutorHub SG, the website, and its parent, subsidiary, or affiliate companies are not a party to such arrangements and bear no responsibility or liability under them. We do not perform the tutoring work, manage the lessons, or guarantee any results. TutorHub SG and its affiliates are in no way responsible or liable for the conduct, quality, safety, legality, timing, or performance of the work or tutorship services provided by tutors, nor are we responsible for any disputes, billing issues, or payments between users.

2. Eligibility and Account Creation

To use the Platform, you must be at least 18 years old, or possess legal parental or guardian consent. Parents or guardians may create and manage accounts on behalf of minor students. Tutors registering on the Platform represent and warrant that they are legally permitted to reside and provide tuition services in Singapore. Users must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and maintain its accuracy. One person may maintain only one active account on the Platform unless specifically approved by us in writing. Accounts are personal and non-transferable.

3. Verification and Badges

TutorHub SG may offer credentials verification services. Verification badges indicate only that the Platform has reviewed certain documents or information submitted by the tutor. Verification does not constitute a guarantee of competence, qualifications, character, employment status, suitability, or performance. Users are solely responsible for conducting their own due diligence, interviews, and background checks before entering into any arrangements.

Users must use the Platform in a respectful, lawful, and ethical manner. You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent profile information or reviews.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or forge certificates or credentials.
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or discriminate against other users.
• Use the Platform for any unlawful purposes or to solicit illegal services.
• Circumvent Platform security, access unauthorized data, or interfere with Platform operations.
• Bypass or circumvent platform fee mechanisms.

Users retain all ownership rights in the content, photos, profiles, and reviews they upload to the Platform. By uploading content, you grant TutorHub SG a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to display, reproduce, distribute, and promote such content in connection with operating and marketing the Platform.

7. Platform Availability & Modification

TutorHub SG does not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted, or secure access to the Platform. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any features, layouts, or portions of the Platform at any time without prior notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, TutorHub SG, the website, its parent, sister, subsidiary, or affiliate companies, and their respective directors, officers, employees, partners, and agents shall not be responsible or liable for the selection of any tutor by a parent or student, the quality of work performed, lesson content, the safety or behavior of either party during lessons, or any payments, refund requests, or disputes. You acknowledge that you select, engage, and pay tutors entirely at your own risk. In no event shall TutorHub SG or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. This includes, without limitation, loss of profits, loss of tuition assignments, user disputes, academic results or exam outcomes, personal injury, property damage, or safety incidents arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform or tuition arrangements.

9. Anti-Circumvention Clause

To protect the integrity of the marketplace, users who are introduced or matched through the Platform must communicate, book, and arrange their lessons through the Platform. Users shall not intentionally bypass the Platform or take transactions off-platform to avoid platform fees, subscription checks, or transaction commissions (where applicable). Circumvention may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

10. Verification Badge Disclaimer

Verification badges indicate only that TutorHub SG has reviewed and checked the specific documents (such as academic certificates or identity proofs) submitted by the tutor. They do not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee of a tutor's teaching capabilities, academic mastery, suitability for a student, or legal status. Parents and students remain responsible for validating qualifications.

11. AI Recommendations Disclaimer

Any automated matching scores, AI-generated tutor rankings, or smart recommendations provided by the Platform are generated for convenience and information purposes only. They should not be relied upon as the sole basis for selecting a tutor or making educational decisions.

12. Termination & Account Suspension

TutorHub SG reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or terminate accounts, remove profile listings, or restrict access to the Platform at any time, without notice and without liability, for any violation of these Terms, fraud, misrepresentation, or conduct harmful to the Platform or other users.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

14. Transaction Fees & Payment Processing

TutorHub SG may, from time to time, introduce integrated payment processing, escrow, or other financial services through the Platform or via third-party payment processors. Where such services are made available and used, TutorHub SG reserves the right to charge a transaction fee, service fee, or payment processing fee in connection with those services.

• Any applicable transaction fees will be clearly disclosed to the relevant user at or before the time the transaction is initiated, or on our published pricing page.
• Transaction fees, where charged, are non-refundable once the transaction has been processed, except where required by applicable Singapore law.
• TutorHub SG is not responsible for any additional fees levied directly by third-party payment processors, card networks, digital wallet providers, or banking institutions.
• TutorHub SG reserves the right to introduce, amend, or discontinue transaction fees at any time with reasonable prior notice to affected users.
• For the avoidance of doubt, transaction fees (if any) are separate from, and in addition to, any subscription, listing, or premium placement fees paid by Tutors.

15. Advertising, Promotions & Sponsored Content

TutorHub SG operates as an advertising and marketplace platform and, as such, may display, publish, or distribute various forms of promotional and commercial content:

• The Platform may display third-party advertisements, sponsored listings, affiliate offers, or promotional materials from educational institutions, tutoring-related product vendors, or other commercial partners.
• TutorHub SG may promote or advertise its own products, services, subscription plans, features, or partner offerings directly to users via the Platform, in-app notifications, email communications, or other channels.
• TutorHub SG may receive compensation — including advertising fees, referral commissions, or affiliate revenue — in connection with third-party advertisements or promoted content displayed on the Platform.
• Where content is sponsored or paid for by a third party, we will endeavour to label or identify it as such where required by applicable law or regulations.
• The display of any advertisement or sponsored content on the Platform does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or warranty by TutorHub SG regarding the advertiser's products, services, quality, or accuracy of claims.
• Users interact with third-party advertisements and promotional offers at their own risk. TutorHub SG accepts no liability for any loss or damage arising from a user's reliance on advertised products or services provided by third parties.
• TutorHub SG reserves the right to introduce, modify, or discontinue any advertising or promotional programmes at any time, without prior notice.
